My counterpart has six strings
And an unpredictable melody.
Tonight she is melancholic with diminished vibrance.
Her solitary voice is a symphony.
I weep and she responds
Meaningless with wonder
She approaches the coda
But within the notes, she strays off scale.
Tonight she is not truly here
Her imperfection is perfect
Clasped in a glorious array of precision
Off track, off beat
The symphony clashes
If not in my grasp then where is she?
Suspended in her fourth
I bring her back home
My counterpart has six strings
And an unpredictable melody.
She begs me to come home with anxious pleas
Her words grip my heart
She weeps and I respond.
